Artist's Comments
This is a piece I did for school. In brief, it's about viewing life from the optimistic standpoint. Love shines through, never give up hope, and other similar messages are what this painting is all about. The pink represents the optimism and the black represents the pessimism. The black is dull and has no movement, while the pink has a very painterly quality. I wanted to portray the idea that even though the world around us isn't always a nice place, or even though times can get hard, we shouldn't let the blackness consume us. We should always have something to hope for and as long as we do, we will be ok.
